The Accounting Director, Controller, oversees the general accounting and financial reporting functions and associated systems for the organization's financial services areas, including Accounting, Accounts Payable (A/P), Treasury, Financial Reporting, Payroll, and other areas as assigned. Directs the establishment and implementation of the organization's accounting policies and procedures while assisting company executives by providing financial information to be used in making economic decisions about the organization's future.



  • Establishes policies and procedures for areas of oversight.
  • Oversees the general accounting function, including cash management/reconciliation, financial reporting, and balance sheet management, for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial managements reports.
  • Ensures that company financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and in alignment with all regulatory oversight.
  • Reviews financial reports, monthly/quarterly account reconciliations, and other documents under responsibility to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinates annual audits; responsible for implementing agreed upon recommendations related to areas of responsibility, resulting from audit findings.
  • Manages the annual corporate budgetary process.
  • Provides due diligence for accounting/finance aspects of acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Establishment of, and adherence to, internal controls.
  • Establishes and maintains systems and controls that verify the integrity of all accounting and financial systems, processes, and data.
  • Supervises the completion of federal and state tax reporting requirements (income, property, sales and use, payroll, other local taxes, etc.), insurance reports, and other reports required by government regulations; assists other departments with dealing with tax-related issues and meeting reporting requirements.
  • Ensures that computer programs used in the performance of corporate financial/accounting business continue to operate as required; is involved in validation to ensure accounting requirements continue to be met.
  • Ensures that areas of responsibility are staffed with qualified personnel capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities of the area; responsible for continued development of staff; leads and directs accounting professional and support staff through subordinate managers.
  • Implements and maintains a system of internal controls to ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies, as well as with federal and state requirements.
  • Oversees accurate and timely processing of A/P, including employee expense reports, management of petty cash, cash control; oversees payroll processing, and corporate payroll tax compliance, quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state report.
  • Respond to the CFO as assigned with accurate and timely information.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; MBA preferred.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Minimum 3 years of healthcare Accounting Director, Controller experience required; 5 years of Accounting Director,
  • Controller experience preferred.
  • Availability to travel up to 25% of the time.
